I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about Miami but I’m sorry – it was that much fun.

I stepped up my bartending game 30,000 feet in the air and embarrassed all of my friends with my airplane bottle of Ketel One and mini cocktail shaker from Williams-Sonoma.  To be honest, I’m not an expert on what is acceptable to bring on a flight so I erred on the side of caution with a mini liquor bottle and depended on the flight attendment to provide be with a mixer.  I seriously contemplated packing mint bitters and a lime for garnish but I decided against it.  There’s always next time!

It’s a personal preference but I typically like my drinks shaken and served with little to no ice.  So after politely requesting some cranapple juice and a cup of ice, I got to work making a very complicated drink – a cranapple and vodka. Ok so it was probably the most basic drink ever – but the sound of my cocktail shaker and added touch of a paper straw and cheeky napkin really set the tone for the trip.  We arrived in Miami around lunch on Thursday – tipsy and ready to go!
