Galentine’s Gift Guide

Rabbit, rabbit, my galentine’s!

We made it through what seemed liked 243 days of January. 🙌🏽

There’s something about February that always cheers me up. Maybe it’s the influx of pink products and store displays or just knowing that we’re one month closer to spring…or maybe it’s because I use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to purchase things I don’t need treat myself.

If you fall into the latter camp – then I hope this gift guide inspires you to spread some love to your bestie (& yourself)!

Father’s Day Gift Guide

As a true daddy’s girl, I like to think I honor my dad throughout the year but come June there’s a special section in the card aisle just for fathers!

I personally believe that dad’s appreciate experiences more than material objects. but sometimes you just can’t pull off a lunch date with Bruce Springsteen so an online purchase will have to do.

We’re only a few days out so I’ve rounded up 7 gift ideas…all eligible for Amazon Prime. 😉

To my financial advisor, 24 hour toll-free handy man hotline, and the biggest mush I know when it comes to our 4 legged family member – cheers to you, daddio!

Peony Provisions

It’s the most wonderful time of year!

Patios are opening, temperatures are rising and peonies are blooming. There is no shortage of peony posts on my Instagram feed and I don’t hate it. Admittingly, I stalk Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s like a crazy lady for peonies and scoop up a bunch every time they’re available. But these lush flowers are popular for good reason – not only are they photogenic ( 😉 ) but they smell wonderful.

So after stumbling upon some peony-scented cleaning supplies (seriously, 2 of my favorite things combined) I was inspired to track down every other floral product so I could enjoy the scent long after my bouquet dies. From skincare to home fragrance – I’ve rounded up 7 of my favorites …

Wall Decor Wishlist

I’ve been in my new apartment for just over a month and now that everything is in its place (but is it ever really?), I’m focusing my attention on wall decor.

| wall art dream board featuring Slim Aarons & Gray Malin

I have a bare spot in my bedroom that needs some love. With my room being very neutral – lots of whites and greys – I’m envisioning the wall décor to add a pop of color. I’m still deciding between a small, curated gallery wall or just a simple, framed piece of artwork but leaning towards the latter. While I would love nothing more than to splurge on a Slim Aaron or Gray Malin (examples featured above), I’m opting for a more cost-friendly option. In my search for the perfect piece, I rounded up 5 of my favorites that are all under $100…

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Sometimes I open my mouth and my mother comes out.

She’s a firecracker, that mother of mine, and I love her to pieces! Even when we have our differences (which is more often than not) she’s always been my cheerleader, confidant and number one adviser. I think that’s what makes mothers so wonderful – their unconditional love (& ability to provide unsolicited advice on how to live your life). 😉

In honor of our beloved matriarchs day, I’ve rounded up 7 gifts for any kind of mama – the traveler, the chef, the homemaker and the firecracker…

Be My Galentine

I don’t know if it’s my inner 8 year old or just the fact that I appreciate coordinated gifts…

| Aren’t these love notes cute!? |

…but Valentine’s Day treats make me oh so happy. (See here and here for cute crafts, perfect for your girlfriends and co-workers.) So in honor of the day of love, I’ve rounded up my favorite gifts for your bestie or yourself – all under $20!

While we’re on the topic of Valentine’s Day – I had the opportunity to do a guest post on Abundantly Alex (shared a delish cocktail) this week. Pop on over to Alex’s blog for all the fashion inspiration your heart can handle!

For The Hostess

Chances are you’re headed to Thanksgiving dinner or have a holiday party in the near future and with these social engagements come hostess gifts. While candles, wine, and flowers are all excellent choices – I wanted to share a few less obvious options.

Have a friend who loves a good Netflix binge?  Get them the cozy blanket. Does your aunt treat preparing a charcuterie like an Olympic sport? A “cheese protractor” will be her new favorite kitchen gadget. Does the hostess literally have everything? I bet they don’t have a pillow with a reindeer smoking a pipe on it!

Whatever their fancy, these 7 gifts will please any host…

Winter Window Shopping

You know you’re getting old when you add “a nice pair of PJ’s” to your wishlist.

With fall officially here I’ve already started dreaming of cooler temps. I don’t want to rush the autumn months, but where ya at 50 degree weather? Candles smell better, blankets feel softer and your bed feels warmer during the winter weeks. And while this post may seem a little premature (since us Atlantans have to suffer through an unusually warm fall), I can’t help but “window shop” for cozier digs.  Here are some of my favorite finds…

Book Stacks

I’ve been known to judge a book by its cover.  But when it’s a coffee table book, I don’t feel as bad.

From colorful bindings and bold photography to catchy titles and interesting font choices – I choose books to display based on many things. Almost always though they feature a topic that I’m passionate about – so dogs, décor, and drinks. 😉 Here are a few that are currently on my wish list…

Father’s Day Gift Guide

My father is a total saint.

A Bud-Light-drinking, Springsteen-singing, handyman-extraordinaire saint…who also happens to be the hardest man to shop for. He would be just as happy with a homemade card and an evening spent watching Overhaulin’ but with my “must give the perfect present” mentality – I find it tricky to buy gifts for him. So for Father’s Day I usually go the route of picking out something he doesn’t know he needs yet. 😉

*My friend Brandon (remember him from this post?) has crafted these amazing golf club bottle openers – they’re the perfect one-of-kind gift. Comment on this photo to order!

Happy Father’s Day, Daddio!

Pillow Talk

Anyone else like to karate chop pillows as much as I do?

As you can tell from my home decor posts – I have a slight affinity for pillows. They are such an easy way to spruce up your space while still serving a purpose (i.e.: a place to rest by head during a Bravo binge). At lots of different price points you can always find one to fit your fancy, whether you’re in the mood to splurge or save. Here are a few of my current favorites…

Springtime Finds

The days are longer, which means….

More time to shop! Okay, so that may not totally be accurate. But when springtime rolls around, I’m ready for bright whites, poppy colors and all the floral prints. In hopes over inspiring you for a little spring refresh, I’ve rounded up a few seasonal finds that I’m currently coveting.

Box of Cocktails

Box of chocolates are so 1994.

Box of cocktails, very 2016.

We recently celebrated Ally’s birthday at Barcelona Wine Bar and I wanted to gift her something that she would really enjoy – enter Box of Cocktails. She is one of my only friends who appreciates a spicy marg, so I started there. 😉 After locking down the cocktail, I picked up some accompaniments that paired well with margaritas but were also dual purpose.

Start with the basics – liquor, mixer, glassware – and build from there. You can tailor the box to the recipient’s liking while easily controlling the price point. Infusing simple syrup or making sugar and salt mixtures for garnishing is an easy way to add flavor and not cost, leaving more to spend on the glassware and trinkets.

For Ally’s box, I included 2 fun glasses, fresh citrus, homemade margarita salt, infused-tequila*, a festive bottle opener and gold foil straws.

Glasses | Gold Straws | Bottle Opener

*When you’re at the liquor store look behind the counter at the more affordable, smaller (not airplane size) options of your favorite booze. What’s cuter than a baby Patron?

| Fresh jalapeno slices in a bottle of Patron – a match made in heaven |

| Add a little lime zest and cayenne for an added kick in the margarita salt |

For some extra inspiration, I’ve compiled a few more ideas centered around some classic cocktails.

Cupid’s Gift Guide

Some may consider Valentine’s Day a “Hallmark Holiday” but I consider it an excuse to OD on pink things and candy hearts.
